There is something pretty magical about a wedding that feels completely at home in its surroundings, and Steph and Christian’s Four Seasons Napa Valley wedding was exactly that. Set among the vineyards in Calistoga, their wedding day brought together everything we love about a Napa Valley celebration: incredible scenery, an outdoor ceremony and dinner, thoughtful details and a design that felt elevated without competing with the beauty already surrounding us.
For Steph and Christian, we leaned into a palette of crisp whites, soft greens and natural textures to create a wedding that felt elegant, organic and timeless. From the lush ceremony florals to an alfresco reception filled with candlelight, grapes and layers of greenery, every part of the day felt intentional while still allowing the relaxed beauty of Wine Country to shine through. And when you have a venue like Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley as the backdrop, there is so much to work with.
Steph & Christian’s Wedding Day in Calistoga
Steph and Christian’s wedding day began right on property, allowing the entire experience to unfold within Four Seasons Napa Valley. Before the ceremony, the two shared a private first look and exchanged personal vows among the vineyards. It was such a simple moment, but one of our favorites from the day! With rows of vines behind them and the Calistoga hills in the distance, it was exactly the kind of setting that makes a Napa Valley wedding feel so special.
For the ceremony, we wanted the design to feel like an extension of the landscape rather than something placed on top of it. A lush, organic floral arch framed the couple with layers of white blooms and greenery, while low floral arrangements lined the aisle. White chairs kept everything feeling clean and classic, allowing the surrounding vineyards and greenery to become part of the design. The white and green color palette continued into cocktail hour, where guests moved into the barn and surrounding spaces. Inside, a large suspended greenery installation drew your eye upward and played beautifully against the warm wood architecture. A circular white bar became another focal point, with custom cocktail signage bringing in the green tones used throughout the rest of the wedding.
We especially loved how many of the smaller details reinforced the overall aesthetic. Custom matchboxes featured an illustration of the property, while the bar signage incorporated a drawing of the couple’s dog. These were personal details that didn’t need to be oversized to make an impact. They simply made the celebration feel more like Steph and Christian.
An Elevated Wine Country Reception
For the reception design, we wanted to take the classic white-and-green wedding palette and give it a distinctly Wine Country feel. White linens created a clean foundation for the tables, paired with natural wood and woven chairs that brought warmth into the design. Florals stayed soft and organic, with white blooms, calla lilies and different shades and textures of greenery arranged low across the tables.
One of our favorite details was the use of fresh green grapes throughout the tablescape. It was subtle, unexpected and such a beautiful nod to the Napa Valley setting. Rather than making every table exactly the same, we used a combination of rounds to create a serpentine look and long tables to create movement throughout the reception space. The overhead view really shows how much the layout itself became part of the design. Long tables created an intimate, communal feeling while the rounds softened the overall floor plan and kept the space visually interesting.
As the sun began to set over Calistoga, the entire reception took on a different feeling. String lights stretched overhead, candlelight began to glow across the tables and guests were able to enjoy dinner outside surrounded by the landscape. It was elevated, but never stuffy. Elegant, but still warm and inviting – exactly what a Wine Country wedding should feel like!
